Post & Go : GB Birds - Series 1

The Post & Go -Part 1 stamps featured the common birds found in our gardens and woods.

The first series had the following Birds :
  • Robin
  • Starling
  • Sparrow
  • Wood Pigeon
  • Blue Tit
  • Goldfinch

This set is quite collectible and makes it my favorite in my recent Birds on stamps collection.

Robin

A garden and woodland bird, the robin lives in gardens and woodland . The Robin was busy singing while I was taking the below picture. Every morning, on my way to office, I have seen this bird sing time and again on the same tree.

    Sparrow

This bird is abundant towards the north of Great Britain and Scotland. A common visitor in gardens feeding on seeds and tiny insects.

        Starling

This bird has speckled wings, the head and breast is more speckled in winter than in summer. I had the first glimpse of this bird on my last trip to Scotland .

        Wood Pigeon.

Wood Pigeon @ Caversham , Reading.
These grey birds have a pink breast, a distinctive white mark on the side of their neck and a broad white bar clearly visible on their spread wings in flight. They are quite plump and are commonly found near woods and nest up in the high trees.

I hope to see and take a good photograph of the Goldfinch and the Blue tit soon.
