I was just focusing on the countries in alphabet "A" and surprisingly I picked up Argentina for collecting their Bird stamps.
I started from the 1928 - Airmails and Overprints Zepplins - which are good ones to collect and have high catalogue values ,but some very recent stamps made me wonder of their high catalog values...these are the Songbird stamps -1995 .
1995- Birds of Argentina
9.40p - Baywing also known as the Bay-winged Cowbird , and called Músico meaning a musician who are known to sing in flocks and whistle and vary the pitch in a song...and a "Chuk" as a simple call.
5p - Hooded Siskin is a passerine is a bird of the order Passeriformes, which includes more than half of all bird species. Sometimes known as perching birds or, less accurately, as songbirds.
10p - Rufous-collared Sparrow also known as Chingolo in spanish and have meaning like White Throated .
All these stamps were high face valued stamps in 1995 and also not a large number were printed so its a demand and high value that drives these stamps catalogue value today.
Apart from a high catalog/retail values I think the birds mentioned here are beautiful and a essential set in an Advanced bird stamp collection.
